Swarm Rescues
Swarms occur when a hive is looking for a new home. Honey bees will gather in a large cluster and hang out until they find the perfect place to build a new colony. To protect both bees and humans, if you see a swarm, give us a call! We will come out and safely rescue the bees by putting them in a temporary hive and bringing them back to our apiary to care for them.
Hive Removals
We perform removals when a colony has built a hive somewhere that causes problems for both the bees and humans. Often in walls, outdoor structures, or patio furniture. We remove the colony along with their comb. Ensuring the bees get to keep their hard work, and you’re not left with a mess.

Pricing varies based on location, how long the colony has been established, and how difficult it is to access the hive.

Our biggest focus is the well-being of honey bees. When we do removals or rescues we will transport the colony after dark to ensure no bees are left behind.
Unlike exterminators, who poison bees and leave the comb behind, which leaves you with a rotting mess and the possibility of another hive rebuilding there. We remove the bees and their comb together. This means less mess for you and a fresh start for the bees in their new home.
Big bee companies don’t usually keep rescued colonies. After the bees are removed, we place them in a new hive at our apiary. We care for them until they recover from their move. They either join our apiaries or go to one of our students!
